The natural health giving waters that flow into the Pilliga Artesian Bore Baths have been doing so for well over a century. This facility is found just East of the village of Pilliga along the Pilliga Road (approximately 56 kilometres from Wee Waa/sealed road).

There is no charge to enter the Bore.

A fee does apply per site per night for the primitive camp ground which is RV friendly. This money can either be paid at the Pilliga Cafe or the Narrabri Shire Visitor Information Centre.

Facilities include a toilet block, barbecue, and shelters. A roof covers the pool area and it has lighting for night time bathing. There are also parking areas for caravans and motorhomes.

The water temperature is about 37 degrees Celsius and many people come to bathe in them for therapeutic value.

A very popular recreational activity. You can also call into the Pilliga Pub for a drink or visit the Pilliga Cafe for a beautiful meal.

When Burren Junction bore bath opens for the winter months, the town comes alive with expectant tourists wanting a relaxing, therapeutic dip in the hot artesian water. The water flowing from from the bore bath, which was sunk in 1921, maintains a constant temperature of approximately 41.5 degrees celsius. It is a popular meeting spot for visitors and locals.

Located just three kilometres from Burren Junction in the Walgett Shire and 100 metres off the highway, the bore bath is open 24/7 (although it closes seasonally). It also has an amenities block with electricity, pool side showers and barbecue facilities. Entry and on-site camping are free.

Contact the Walgett Visitor Information Centre for more information about this and other bore baths in the Walgett region.
