I found another well water spring in Heath Ohio on Davis rd near Dawes Arboretum. The coordinates are
N39 deg. 59.138′
W082 deg 24.718′
Its water flows out of a pipe and area someone built. constant heavy flow. Smells of sulfur smell but taste ok. I believe the hydrogen sulfer smell means high iron and sulfur content. locals say lots of people stop and fill up there. open to public 24/7
I found this link on googlemap street view that is actually looking right at it! 🙂

So seems like a capped well someone dug.  Research says the rotten eggs smell is from hydrogen sulfide int he water and it should be safe to drink if you dont mind the smell. its crystal clear and cold. A local said it had a permit, but I saw none posted. If anyone know of the quality of it and the test results please reply and share.

Why hasn’t the water been tested..seems if the waster smells, it wouldn’t be safe

  2. Benjamin says:

High iron and sulfur content, however it is safe to drink

  3. Larry says:

The water is quite safe. I drank it as a young man nearly a full year. It has a very high iron content as does most ground water in that area as well as some sulphur. If I lived close enough now I’d get it in 5 gallon carboys.

  4. Niles Deering says:

I tested the waters PH level it is around 6.5 I’m going to test it with an electrolyzer to see what comes of it, will post later on

  5. JEAN HAGHIRI says:

Just went and it is bone dry…not even a trickle.

  6. Angela says:

I just visited this spring about 3 weeks ago and it was flowing great. The water did have a sulfuric smell and taste. I boiled the water and it went away.

  7. Lisa Wilson says:

I don’t know why someone is saying the water smells, as it doesnt smell at all. It is tested by health dept.

I checked out this spring water spot today. There hadn’t been any comments here for a while, so I figured I would update. The guy I talked to said that they test the water once per month to make sure that it is safe to drink. If it is unsafe, they turn it off. The water, as previous comments have said has a sulfur smell and the taste is very different than what I am used to. But I definitely like the idea of getting my drinking water fresh, and local. So hopefully I will get used to it!
