The hot springs are a part of the Spa Motel, but you don’t have to stay at the Motel to enjoy the hot tub springs or the mineral water pool. It’s very nice and inexpensive. The mineral water pool is especially nice!

    Pagosa Springs was built around the hot spring that this place and “The Springs” across the street draw from. I’ve been soaking in it regularly since 1993. The Native American tribes of the past fought wars over it. It has always been considered sacred and healing.
    The water source is so vast it heats most of the down-town buildings and some of the sidewalks. The temperature of the source (Mother Spring) is 140-160 degrees. Local natives do drink it as a tonic but it is highly mineralized. Most just soak in it and benefit from the the minerals absorbed that way. It has a pretty good Lithium content and provides a very relaxing experience. I go to “The Springs” regularly and love to go from the hottest outdoor pools into the cold clear water of the San Juan River and back for a series of cold plunges. It’s the best!
