    Henk, you might want to read a book called Taking the Waters on NZ’s historical use of springs. There are plenty around, though most people do not know about a lot of them. Pupu is highly regulated, but there are other famous AND accessible springs such Hamner (hot) Springs, and Maruia (hot) Springs.
