Description
Water comes up in 3 places and flows down across the trail. All 3 springs are surrounded by stone cairns. Elevation is 1200′.
“The water comes right out of the ground; there is no pipe. The spring can be shallow at times, so bring a smaller container to pour into a larger one. My friends/family have drank this water many times since 2005 without boiling or filtering it. No giardia, cryptosporidium, or any other ill effects have been noted so far.” – Alexander Staff
Nearest Address
The intersection of Blue Mountain Rd. and Rt. 61 in Port Clinton, PA.
Directions from Nearest Address
Spring can only be accessed by foot and the hike can be slightly steep at times. Park at the trail-head where Blue Mountain Rd. intersects Route 61 and walk North uphill on the Appalachian Trail. The spring is about 3 miles away.
