I went to this spot to meet up with raw foodist Markus Rothkranz and took home a small 2 1/2 gallon container of the water. It’s a little different than a normal spring in that you fill up using a hose at the house of the property. I never saw where the spring water comes from but I after trying the water I would say it was not my favorite spring water. Within weeks I had lots of dirt settle in my carboy, and the taste was not as clean I was hoping. I might have not filled up correctly since I was on my own with no help so I would like others to chime in on this source.

sorry rod we are not professionals :) this is a private residence and the owner is 84 although when you meet him you would guess somewhere n his 50′s. the water comes out at the very top of the hill and is gravity fed down to the hose. ten years ago the spring was tested at the source and it was very pure. you can reach sal at 408-472-3799. what this spring could use is someone to help make it more accessible and something different than a hose. the owner gives the water away for free and is not opposed to someone adding a spout or spigot or what ever would work. best of luck and best wishes 408-796-2210

This is a private humble residence on 115 acres. It is listed simply because it is a fresh water spring in the Bay Area. The city takes all of the water as soon as it leaves the property. I drink and use the water everyday and am grateful for it. The origination point of the spring is up a steep dirt road and a 4 wheel drive would be the preferred access. If the owner is busy he will point you to the hose in front of his house. If someone is local and loves water we would love to find a volunteer to help facilitate those looking for water. Please be advised this is not a day spa ;)

    Thanks for all the postings.

Do any of you use some kind of filtration before drinking this water to remove whatever is “alive” in the water? I just emailed the owner asking if I can try some of his water …

Sal is a lot sharper than you think; he’s got more going on than most 20 year olds.  Be kind because he’s 84?  What a stupid thing to say

  • Mntlion

Who are you?  You sound so insulting.  Go get your water somewhere else.

  • Mntlion

This water is straight out of the mountain.  It is not filtered like flatland city wate.  The water was tested 4+/- years ago at 98% pure.  Keep to your bottled ‘spring’ water and stay happy.

hey Mnitlion, you are online rude guy three straight replies to three straight people and all are rude. are you the moderator or just trolling

  • Quasimojo

DO NOT drink this water! If this guy is an indicator, it increases your bile production to dangerous levels.
