Description:

The water comes from under the mountain where there is the sky center called Le Massif and comes out of a metal pipe that someone has put there. It flows all the time and never stops. Even in winter at minus 40 there is much water. People from all over the municipality go to that spring and get water for free. The small city even regularaly sends an inspector to check if the water is safe because there had been concerns that the sky center may have contaminated the water. In the end the water is always perfectly clean. My grand mother’s sister recently showed me pictures of a school (1800s-1900s) where children would drink water there. I love to drink there. My grand parents have been drinking that water for half their lives. If you plan on getting 18.9L bottles of water make sure you have a friend to help you pull the the bottles back up to the road.

The GPS coordinates are not exact because I used google earth to get the coordinates. It is located between the steep road and the small wood bridge on the St-Laurence River’s side. The spring is located beside the road perhaps 3 meters lower than the road. You must put your car on the side of the road (be careful because the few people who ride down the hill in their cars do it at a fast speed even though it is 50km per hour zone). The spring will be located not on the side where there is the forest, but on the other side, the side of the St-Laurence River. Use your ears while walking on the side of the road, you will hear water coming out of a pipe. Sometimes someone ties an orange flag to the bushes for easy spotting.

The thumb pin locating the spring is not on the accurate side of the road. It should be between the road and the St-Laurence river.

You will find the spring exactly between the base of the new aerial tramway and the rail road. Look for the aerial tramway, go to the base, use your ears to hear the running water in the ditch.
