Description
Hot springs–consisting of three pools at different temperatures. The top springs, consist of a pool of hot water — temperature is unknown (to me) at this time, this pool feeds into both lower pools. Top pool has vegetation on lower end of it and is the smallest pool. The second pool, is warm, has more vegetation and contains Rio Grande Silvery Minnows (endangered species). However, the minnows don’t seem to be bothered by visitors enjoying the springs! Just keep in mind and respect that they are endangered and protected. The third pool is quite a bit cooler, and as it goes down the mountain, it feeds into the creek below which later feeds into the Rio Grande River. ….Sacred place of Native Americans! Petroglyphs in the area!
