There is a white pipe sticking out of the rocks on the side of the highway with a wooden platform to stand on. The spring is flowing into a creek and extremely easy to access, just drive up and fill up your bottles. The water is super clear and tastes amazing.

Doing a E-coli test and should have the results in 24 hours.
Water was cold but did not measure the temperature.

E-coli and bacteria test came back negative meaning the water is still good to drink

Thanks for doing this and reporting your findings! I’m from Nanaimo and am considering doing a road trip up to Campbell River with all my water bottles. It seems to be the only safe source on the island, I’m sure there are others, I just don’t know about them. Going to do a bit more research on other sites…once again, thanks Bill!

I phoned the City of Campbell River and the VIHA Health Unit and they commented since the feed from the spring is via a creek there is a good chance the creek could get contaminated. Therefore I have decided not to use this spring as the risk to me is higher than the reward. If I could get the water from the actual source of the spring then I would change my mind. Even though I tested the water the next time I go it could be a different story.
    Good luck with your research
