Small cove right off river road, leaving Moab. just a few minutes from town. There is spout coming right out of the mountain. Water tastes amazing! icy cold, pure spring water, great place to refill all bottles.

Exits a rock wall on the side of Mt. Ogden and flows several hundred yards down hill where it joins Taylor Creek. Flow is very large but varies with snow melt and runoff from the mtn. above. I think this spring may be the source of the “Kristin Spring also listed here. When there is no water in Taylor creek, the spring flow disappears under ground again about a half mile from the source. “Kristin Spring is another mile or so farther down hill from there.

From the East end of 27th St. walk up the left or the right trail up”Taylor Canyon Creek”. You can ford “Taylor Creek” if it is running where the spring enters it tumbling down the hilh side to the right and follow the spring creek to its source, or go a few hundred yards further to the “Maylan’s Peak Trail” sign, to the right at the second foot bridge across Taylor Creek. A hundred yards or so up the trail after crossing the bridge, there is a trail forking to the right down to the source of the “City Spring”. This spring is right up there with the “Mt.Shasta City Park Spring” in Mt. Shasta, Ca. IMNSHO. Enjoy! It’s a bit of a hike, but it’s worth it. I carry out 5 gallons at a time in a backpack, and I’m pushing 70, so have at it!

Pah Tempe Hot Springs, also known as La Verkin or Dixie Hot Springs, are located along the Virgin River near where the river cuts through Timpoweap Canyon along the Hurricane Cliffs between the towns of Hurricane and La Verkin. The springs issue at about 42°C (108°F) from multiple vents in fractured limestone. Widespread basalt flows ranging in age from 2 million years to 1,000 years old lie in the vicinity of the springs, possibly relating to local heat sources for the thermal water. (source)

The spring is on the neffs canyon trail. At the end of the trail there will be a pile of rocks. From there a trail starts south up the hill towards Mt. Olympus. It’s only i short bit till you reach the pipe coming out of the mountain in to a rusted out horse trough. The spring runs from spring to fall.

You can gather water at Hildale’s City Park…near base of the canyon…where the community has tapped the spring water. There’s taps with levers to turn on the flow. If you want to hike to the source…you can do that also…a couple mile hike..but beautiful. There is water riddled throughout Caanan Mountain and the surrounding National Park area…if you hike the trails you’ll find springs popping up everywhere…feeding the abundant wildlife. Sawmill Springs is just the main one.

Take 27th street East to the mountain, park and follow the right hand side trail (with a long gate), traveling south east and upwards into the trees. Listen closely because you should be able to hear the running stream of water, which will lead you to the spring. (Note: I have been drinking this water for a year, and it’s the best water ever.)
