Description
The well is situated on one of the main streets in this village about a mile from Scotch Corner on the A1. There is a significant frontage to the well and when I have visited, water pours constantly down the road. I have been told that it always does so. The water is palatable but does seem to have a high nineral content. It is listed as a ‘Holy’ well in a long out of print book on holy wells of Wensleydale and Swaledale
