Although it’s not ultra low TDS like the Kearney Natural Spring, there is NO question about it, this Metcalfe Rock Spring in Kolapore Uplands is indeed very special, it’s has a blueish, purple violet colour that you can clearly see in the vid & pic. I believe this water is coming from or running along an ancient underground glacier in that area. My only water sample did show levels of both Total Colifrm & E.Coli bacteria in the water, so you are drinking this water at your own risk. Although we both drank this water with no ill effects, I’m looking forward to taking more samples in the future & encourage you to do the same.” – Mo Rosati

A nice mineral spring located a few minutes away from the last remaining covered bridge in Ontario. This is a cleaner, deeper water source than the West Montrose Spring ( across from the campground, 6344 Line 86 ) which appears to be more of a shallow well.

Continuous. It is a bit of a hike (~10 minute walk) from the nearest parking lot at the trail’s entrance, so not the most convenient for carrying large water bottles.

Turn onto the north end of Queenston St. from the Niagara Pkwy, travelling southeast until you reach an unmarked road on the left-hand side. (unmarked road is about 300 m. from the Niagara Pkwy/Queenston St. intersection.) Travel down the unmarked road to parking area. The GPS coordinates for the parking area are 43.16888° N, 079.05581° W and the GPS coordinates at the spring are 43.16729° N, 079.05362° W. So, you have to walk about 260 m. from the parking area to the spring.

From Hwy 520, turn down Horner Rd. You will see a “No Exit“ sign. Drive for about 1 km and the spring is on the left hand side of the road. You will see a billboard with ads on it. On some internet maps, you will see Homer Rd instead of Horner Rd. but the road signs indicate the Horner Rd name.
