Description

Has a concrete bathtub that used to fill up but now is crumbling. It has a pipe that turns to point down to fill jugs. It is right on the north side of the road with a little parking lot.

“The sign the county put up is faded badly now but it says that it cannot be held liable because of the pesticide runoff from the farm field. Drink at your own risk, blah blah blah. People have been drinking it for years (myself included) with no reported problems.” – Rik Huffman

Nearest Address

On Tylersville Rd. between Morris Rd. and Seward Rd. No numerical address. It’s on the side of the road across from a farm field. The county has labeled it unsafe to drink saying it has pesticide runoff from the fields but people fill jugs there everyday. It is under pressure and runs all the time. It has had some upkeep in the past but the concrete is deteriorating.

Is this information current? I was told that the county closed this spring because people kept parking by the side of the road to fill their jugs. It’s on Tylersville Rd which is one lane each way and the growth of the suburbs around that area has resulted in a huge increase in traffic on that road – and the drivers fly through that area.
How sad! This spring is only 10-15 minutes from my house!

This spring was capped and sealed over 20 years ago!

  • Rik Huffman

Be that as it may, it wasn’t capped between ’02 and ’07.

I haven’t been up to it in quite awhile. Why don’t you drive by and see?

  • Sandy

or for most of the ’90s when we would go there along with many friends in the area. It was constantly being used.
