Description

24/7 a standpipe with good flow. The road through the village is very narrow and not good parking next to the spring but the villagers seem very proud of their spring and tolerant of those who come for water.

Spring is located between mile marker 199 and 198 (approximate) about 7 miles south of Florence. If heading south of Florence on Hwy 101 then start looking on the on the left after the Siltcoos recreation center. There’s a pullout on the right that you can pull off the road and then turn around and go to the pullout on the left and you’ll see the sign saying “Siltcoos Reacreation Area next 4 miles” sign. Spring is located 15 feet off the road in the woods. Spring is a lot easier to find heading north on hwy 101. Start looking for the Siltcoos Recreation sign after County Line road on the right. Look for the sign in the pictures.

Description

This is free flowing and continuous flowing spring. It is maintained by the State of Minnesota. The spring has been plumbed with some pipes that direct the flow. The pipes are primitive but adequate for obtaining the water for use. The spring is surrounded by a simple park and is near to a river that flows near to it. The asphalt parking lot needs repair and has many pot holes. Be careful in driving into this small parking lot. The wayside rest is minimally maintained and has a steep unmarked driveway just off Highway 22. The park wayside rest is at the bottom of the valley between two hills that the highway passes by.

This wayside rest has a Memorial Marker located near to this spring. This Marker reads; Victory Highway in honor of the men and women who served in the World Wars I and II. Sponsored by the Mankato Garden Club and the American Legion with the corporation of the department of Highways. Centennial year 1958.

This spring is located between two addresses. Christa View Drive and 190th Lane or also called township road 292. It is located at the wayside rest off the highway on the right of the road going south out of Mankato, Mn. It is located just after the guard rails end and as the road turns into a double lane. This wayside rest is poorly marked.

This spring is open all year and at all times of the day. In the winter the snow plows plow the snow off the road to the sides and block the wayside rest driveway making it impossible to access in the winter. A person could walk into the area and collect water from the spring if they parked along the side of the road. This is dangerous since the traffic goes 60 miles per hour or faster most times. People could park on the roads near to the park and walk a little to access the park and the water in the winter.

Description

12″ x 32″ x 4″ deep concrete basin attached to outside of Church on asphalt parking lot. The spring is located at a higher elevation, back in the woods and is gravity fed to the basin through 3 inch ceramic pipes. Filling 5 gallon containers is almost impossible unless you bring a siphon hose with you.
