Description
This Spring is called “Mt. Blue Spring” & is located near the end of the driveway of the park [the last paved parking lot to the right (after a campsite), just before the turn-around @ the end of the road; Union St.]. The water comes from an Aquifer & is maintained by the park. It exists within a hut, & there are 3 faucets which maintain (limit) the water flow. I asked one of the rangers if it was “sucked” out of the earth like a well & he stated it is not, that it is indeed an aquifer, which means the water coming up is ‘ripe’, & just limited by the presence of 3 faucets, however there was some sort of pump there which they were having issues w/ (electrical) the day i went (7-3-09), but i believe that will be resolved shortly. So i’m a bit confused as to the reason the pump is there, but i’m assuming it assists in maintaining the flow of the water & is not there to suck it out of the ground. I was able to get a decent trickle of water the day i was there regardless. As is often the case with other springs, i’m assuming the pressure ebbs & flows. Another couple there stated that the flow i witnessed wasn’t nearly what they’re used to seeing, but the ranger stated it was working fine the day before. The park ranger also stated the spring has been there for many, many decades & that locals come from all around incessantly to fill their water, & that it is tested frequently. He had a test result page @ the Visitor Center, but not an extra one for me to take w/ me. He stated there is another posting of test results (mineral content/ppm?) at the hut where the water is, but i forgot to look for it when there, (didn’t see it). According to the ranger, this water was exported all over the world about 100 years back! He stated it was the best water around. I have to say that i THINK i liked the taste of this water better than my usual source of water in Exeter NH (oak st. extension), but it’s too premature to cast my vote…

Water comes out of cave continuously. This is a magical place. I have met quite a few people there that have been drinking the water for over 30+ years. They test and do upkeep on the spring regularly.
Nearest Address
79 Bruner Ridge lane Union Star, KY 40171
Directions from Nearest Address
The spring is off of Bruner Ride just past 79, which is a huge farm. Just past that you will see a gravel road that goes downhill. Take that road and follow it back about a quarter mile and then off to the left you will see the spring. You can see the water running over the road from a good distance away. If you can’t find it, ask someone and they will know what youre talking about it.

This is a little know water source, just outside Hamilton, Ontario. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of info about this spring, but it obvious that this has been in use for a long, long time. I was told that back in the 80′s this spring had high nitrate levels but I don’t have any current info. For what it’s worth, many of the locals in the area use it daily & have nothing but good things to say about this spring.

From Calgary take the Okotoks exit from Deerfoot 2 onto 2A take it to 7 and go eight on 7. Turn left at the STOP sign in BlackDiamond (follow 22 south) then you pass Bar U ranch with the big cowboy sign! Then you will go for 10 min. Or so and you will find the 786 with the green William Coulee Rd sign you know that you’re at the right spot if you go over a cattle guard/ramp thing… The spring will be on your left side of the road up the hill a little bit. You will know you found it as there is a long pipe. It’s been piped and all I know is that I have talked to natives and lots of people and its been there all year round for 20 years or more… always ice cold.

Next to a large sycamore tree, under a small spring house. The spring house has a marble statue of a woman on top. You will need to a ladle or a cup to reach into the spring house.
The spring was used on the Vassar estate to feed large fountains. The walking trails have a guided tour map that shows you ruins and tells you about the history of the spring. Originally the statue on the spring house was a dog.

Restored with hand pump, in a clearing surrounded by woods. Sounds silly but you need to bring a gallon of water to prime the pump. There is a small stream that runs along a stone wall if you want to use that for priming.
On a sign next to the spring: “When Mother Cabrini purchased this property in 1890 to establish an orphanage for girls, there was no water to be found on its grounds. Through the grace of God, Mother Cabrini told here sisters to dig in this spot. Water came forth, which continues to flow and to provide water for the children of St. Cabrini Home today.”

The spring is on the neffs canyon trail. At the end of the trail there will be a pile of rocks. From there a trail starts south up the hill towards Mt. Olympus. It’s only i short bit till you reach the pipe coming out of the mountain in to a rusted out horse trough. The spring runs from spring to fall.
